This temporary installation was commissioned by Craftspace to hang in Birmingham Cathedral Square, which 20,000 people walk through each day. The large scale chandelier structure was created using a variety of processes such as crochet, knit and macrame and mix of unconventional materials. The piece was made on site in the square, and encouraged interaction with the public, who could add to the piece and learn a new skill. The aim was to engage people in the immediate activity of making, collaborating and bonding with participants and allow them the freedom to affect the outcome of the piece.
